Hydrangeas

Several years ago we rented a summer house on the French Atlantic coast in Vendée, the house was beautiful and a lovely surprise as we compared it to what we had rented the year before in that same region! This house was surrounded by hydrangeas in blues and purples and it was the most gorgeous thing having breakfast, lunch or dinner in that beautiful garden.

The Altenew April Inspiration Challenge made all that come back to me and I am squeezing in a card to the challenge before the end of the month! This what I came up with:

Using the colors in the inspiration photo as a guide, I dug through my paper scraps that I keep in color family boxes and found quite a few that I could use.
I cut several with the dies for the Striped Florals dies. Initially I had thought I might stamp and emboss the images in gold but decided against that - it seemed to make everything much too busy.

Then I started placing my die cuts inside a circle pattern as I wanted my arrangement to show through a circle die cut on the front of my card. Once I was happy with the pattern I pressed a small piece of Press n' Seal onto the arrangement, lifting it up as once piece, ready to be glued down on the inside of my card. This makes things so easy, great tip learned watching many talented cardmakers on the Internet.

To finish up I cut out the letters so out of the beautiful gold mirror card stock from Altenew, the shine is fantastic, love the stuff! (The thing is to use it sparingly). Then I stamped a part of a sentiment from the Baby Zoo set onto a spare die cut leaf shape and glued all these pieces to the front of my card.

This card is also my submission into the AECP Level 1 program, inspired by a fun class in Altenew Academy called Let it Shine.

Here are a few more pics of this card. Please tell me what you think in the comment section, I would love to hear from you!
