Triple

First things first - I don't necessarily beleive that green and red are Christmas colors only. This is quite obvious from the current look of this blog, no?
A red park bench beneath a soft green tree and a blue sentiment spells spring this time!

As yo can see the images were stamped on white cardstock, cut to size and mounted to red cards which were then lined in blue. See my trademark rabbit peeping through?

I decided to use green envelopes. Red being complementary to green, the effect when you open the green envelope and see the red card inside is delightful - to me at least....
And notice the park bench in green on green - in my world, envelopes should always be decorated.

On some of these cards I stamped the words right below the main image...

On others I stamped on a seperate piece of cardstock and attached, here with some birthday bling added.
As you may notice, I used two different green inks to stamp the tree - not sure if this is called overstamping or shadow stamping but the effect is a fuller tree. The image is first stamped in lime pastel and then in olive pastel (as usual my favorite Chalk Ink from Color Box) - I just wing it, but approximately in the same place.

Thanks for visiting!

Inspired

A direct to paper card this Sunday, finally. I used my favorite Color Box Chalk inks in reds, Burnt Sienna and  Blackbird along with Washi tape. No stamping at all which is unusual for me.

More correspondance cards

You may have noticed that I have a bit of a thing for correspondence cards - I beleive hand-written communication should be encouraged and so I give cards as hostess gifts!

These are for dear and elegant friends in London - I think these cement and ivory cards with pool envelopes (Paper Source) and Deep Lagoon stamped initials convey just that - elegance.

Then of course I have to add my own whimsy with the packaging...

Daisies and sunshine

I have been wanting to stamp daisies for some time and today I finally did. As I love the look of white embossing on kraft paper this is what I used.
I stamped a flower center and embossed in yellow, then I stamped a fairly regular ring of 8 petals all around and embossed in white. I then stamped a new ring of petals and embossed to get an overlapping effect. This gave a very large flower, 13 cm across, so I decided to cut it up into 4 quarters to have a more manageble image to work with.

Below are two of the cards I came up with. The yellow flower center wasn't really yellow enough so I stamped it again on yellow card stock, embossed and cut out.

On the blue card below left, it became a sun (thus the title of the page) and then I added a strip of blue washi tape and a birthday greeting in bright yellow to complete the card.

For the green card I cut out two of the flower-quarters and stuck them down in opposite corners, adding the brighter yellow center at the end.

On this detail picture you can see that the petals are not uniformly white, the overlap is quite visible.

A bit of a change

Dear visitor,

As you can see I made some changes to the blog backgrounds - I felt it was much too busy before and I much prefer the simplicity of this presentation.
I hope you'll like it too.
Tonight I'll upload some new cards - hope to see you again soon!

Vacation birthday card

A very good friend of mine is going to Guadeloupe on vacation AND celebrating her birthday while she's away (how lucky can you get?!)

.

I used eggplant cardstock for the actual card and stamped the Sand and Sea cube from Judikins in Aquamarine on white. The "Destination Ailleurs stamp" was overstamped with the "I was here" hand in Deep Lagoon and then foam mounted for a little bit of relief. All inks are Color Box Chalk which is a definite favorite.

Birthday card for a little boy

2 years old - got to love cake!

Square card and envelope - I like it! Stamps from All Night Media.

My rabbit signature punched on the back of the card so the red lining peeps through.Good color combination.

Happy Birthday Sarah!

Sarah's favorite color is orange
- maybe this is not orange enough?
All stamps from Hero Arts

I embossed the numbers background in white on white cardstock and sponged
Tangerine and Lilac Color Box Chalk inks on top.
