Trigonometry - this is a test!
I am certainly not a maths person but I love geometric shapes, triangles, circles, hexagons - bring them on and I will make cards with them!
Today's cards are composed with triangle shapes that I stamped in a couple of bright colors as well as in cool grays using the Altenew Crisp Inks and the Trigonometry stamp set.
The shapes were all cut out with scissors, these may have a coordinating die but honestly they are so easy to cut out and it would probably take longer to die cut them than it did to fussy cut these shapes! However as you will see, I did use a triangle die from my stash to add some interest to the cards in a later step so I am not saying do not buy the matching dies!
Below you see how I was planning out my cutting and lay out; the first card has a "dancing" triangles while the second has a more strict placement.
The triangular cutouts looked cool but there was not a lot of wow and that is when I decided I wanted to add shine so I grabbed a new (to me) product that I picked up at the recent Stamp & Scrapbook Expo in Chantilly, VA. This Mirri paper is nice and light, very shiny and comes in a bunch of beautiful colors - I would highly recommend it!
See below how my phone with it's flowery protective case is reflected in this awesome paper and the great colors in this variety pack - I seem to remember it cost me about $5 so a good price point as well.
So this is what I used behind the cutouts and I love the effect of the shine. To finish I stamped a couple of sentiments on an angle and embossed in Platinum from Hero Arts and Antique Lead, an old embossing powder from JudiKins - a lovely matte dark gray color.

These cards were fun and easy to make and I think I have covered all the aspects required for the final challenge in the AECP Level 1 assignment using techniques from 3 separate classes in Altenew Academy; Let it Shine, For the Guys and Easy Die Cutting Techniques.

Then I laid them all out on different colored card stock to see how I wanted to arrange them and what color scheme to use - I choose some grays and teals as these felt quite masculine and I wanted to make cards for the men in my life!
